We had an awesome 4th of july with our family. We spent all day at the pool and followed up with a parade on our street and fireworks. We put the girls down and sat outside. Our neighbors drove to Alabama and spent $500 on fireworks, and they were pretty impressive. Maddie was a little nervous, but pretty brave and sat with me a few houses from the festivities. Guenter sat up closer, I am pretty impressed I thought for sure they would be scared!! Below are some pictures of our day!!

It has been a while since I last post. We have been busy this summer spending most days at the pool. We have a waterslide and mushroom with zero entry in our neighborhood so we try to make it most days. It is quie a feat to get everyone there, but worth it! On the weekends we bought an 10 X 10 instant canopy and pop that up, for the girls. They will take a nap in their travel swings we bring for them, sometimes sleeping up to 3 hours. It is wonderful to spend time with Maddie and Guenter without the girls!! Guenter is swimming awesome, and brown as a bear. He can swim on his back as well as across the pool (25 yards)! Maddie also started swimming and can swim about 10 feet, but has not learned how to come up for air, not bad for a 3 year old!! The girls also love the pool, we set them up in their swimsuits and put them in baby floats which they love, but also love to drink the water. We went today with a good friend and they were cooing away in their floats.

Kendall and Kylie are growing like weeds and quickly developing their own personalities. Kendall is the more agressive of the two, loudest, and neediest. Kylie is more laid back and the quiter of the two. Kendall is the class president and Kylie is the thinker of the two!! She might be our future doctor. They are almost 6 months (on Friday). They are sitting for around 2o seconds, Kylie is better than Kendall but I also think it is b/c she has the patience for it, Kendall gets frustrated easily!

For those of you who are dying to know, I have lost all my twin weight and am fitting in most of my pre-preggo clothes! YEA!!! I have worked hard at the gym, and it is nice to have something to show for it.

I will post their 6 month stats, after their appointment in mid-July!!

Forsyth County champs and a visit from the stomach bug!

Last weekend Guenter's 5 year old baseball time participated in the Forsyth County Championship tournament, after 5 games and a nail biter last two they won the tournament!!! Yankees 17, D-backs 12 . Victory is wonderful especially since their moms were maniacs ... yelling at the ump and everything. Our neighbor Andrew, closed off the game by making a triple play (he is only 5, yes!!) ... look for him in the major leagues in a few years. Guenter won the game ball in the semi-final game by making the last RBI and finshing the score with 13-12. In the final game he did great at short stop and was like a wall, nothing passed him! He also hit the ball off the coach ... no T during every inning.

Oh yeah, during the middle of the tournament our entire family ... yes our entire family was hit by the stomach bug! Just when we changed the sheets on one bed they would throw up again and again ... I hate the stomach bug!! Thanks to my in-laws who came to help while I was hanging my head over the toliet. It was a rough two days. Luckily we are all fully recovered, except for my poor Father-in-law who got it a few days ago ... what a trooper.

Maddie loves to play with her dolls now, and I was in the kitchen cleaning and came back to find the dolls in the boppy's (just how I feed the twins at home alone) with their bottles by their sides.

Guenter has graduated from preschool! It was such a cute ceremony. They sang a few songs, and then followed up by calling each preschooler's name. He did awesome singing, and did all the hand motions (much better considering in 3 yr preschool he picked his nose during the entire christmas ceremony) to the songs. He is growing up and so excited to be starting Kindergarten at Sawnee Elem, in August! Way to go little G, we love you!!

Just a little blip about my mom. She has been through a tough time recently, having been diagnosed with breast cancer (Stage 1 ) in November, then followed with a double masectomy and reconstructive surgery in December, and some touch up work done recently. WoW !! That is a lot of surgery, but she is completly recovered and cancer free! She is doing great and looking foward to finding a new job soon. Love you mom!! She is definetly a fighter, has not complained one bit through all of this. She is definetly a breast cancer warrior!!

Maddie is three!!

Our little princess turned three last weekend. We celebrated by having a party with a few friends from her playgroup. They enjoyed putting stickers on a personal bucket and then going on a treasure hunt ... looking for buried treasure!! It was a hit, basically I laid out a few buckets filled with sand and goodies inside and the kids went to town. We also had a jumpy in the garage which is always a hit with the kids! Maddie loved her present from Mommy and Daddy ... a Cinderella dress .. she loved parading around the house in it.

She is quite the girl around here and very inquisitive. We like to call her the bag lady or hoarder of the family. She loves to stuff anything into any sort of container and carry it around the house. It does not matter what it is, if it has a hole and is capable of being stuffed with something she is set ;-0!! She loves to give hugs and cuddle, we love you sweet girl!! She is starting to write letters and can even write part of her name. We look foward to her starting preschool this September.

Easter - Circus Day - G's 5th Birthday!!!

We have had an eventful April. We started with Easter and ended with Guenter's 5th Birthday. In between that we had Circus Day events at Guenter's school. We have been busy!

Guenter was a tiger at his schools circus day performance. It was put on by all the Pre-K classes. He did an awesome job .. stayed in character the entire time!

A few days following the circus performance, they had Circus Day. This is put on by his preschool as well, and includes games, food, pony rides, and a moonwalk. The kids really enjoyed this. Each child and parent has to help out with a game, his class had the "gator walk". Guenter was really not so intrested in helping and would have rather been running around playing ... but at least it was only a 20 minute work session. Kudos to my father-in-law , Guenter, for coming to help me out!! (Imagine that, another Kryszon named Guenter ... I know it's a little confusing!!). The ticket to get in the whole production was a costume, so here is Maddie and Guenter below as Batman and Tinkerbell.

Lastly we celebrated Guenter's 5th Birthday!! He is so old! I can't believe it has been five years since we first layed eyes on him. Time goes by so fast!

We rented a moonwalk and invited the boys from his class, along with a few neighbors and other friends. They all had a blast!! It was also wonderful weather, the kids stayed outside most of the time. Poor Guenter got a bloody nose when another child ran into him in the moonwalk. But after a quick change of clothes and a little coaxing from Daddy he was back to it. Here are some pictures below of Guenter and his friends at the party.

Last night the girls slept through the night ... 8:30-5:30!!! Yeah!!!

Sad:

I am weaning myself off the pump ( I have been pumping for almost three months .. but my supply has dwindled b/c I have not been bringing the girls to the breast). Part of me regrets not trying harder to get the girls to eat simultaneously at the breast. It was so easy with Maddie and Guenter, they never had a bottle of formula or breast milk ... EVER. They nursed to over a year. This has been very emotional for me, I know that formula is fine and they will be perfectly healthy ... but in my ability to be super mom I want them to have the very best. That darn Mom Guilt is killer!! I think a few months from now I will not look back, it is just hard b/c I have a constant reminder that I am not breastfeeding with my engorged breasts :-( .

Guenter is playing 5 year old baseball at Midway Park near our house. They had a preseason tournament last Friday and he hit the ball from the coaches pitch 3 different times, and one of the T. He was so proud of himself, it is neat to see how well he has improved since last season!

The ironic part is they were 7 oz. apart in weight at birth and still are 7 oz. two months later.

As you can tell from the picture I think they are not identical. They are a joy to raise and very laid back. They are not sleeping through yet but will go around a 5 hour stretch. Hopefully sleep will be soon to come.

Guenter and Maddie are doing great. Guenter is still the third parent LOL! We just registered him for Kindergarten and he is very excited!

Maddie has hit the whining stage, but still so much fun! Below is a picture of Maddie A.K.A. 'Hollywood'.

Everyone asks "Do you have help??" and I am thankful to my MIL and mom for all their help! Thanks Moms!!

Kendall and Kylie have accomplished their first milestones .. smiles. Pictures will follow but, I am so proud of them ... they are 6 1/2 weeks old and have smiled right on time (amazing to me b/c they were 3 weeks early!). Of course their first smiles were at Daddy (don't they get all the credit) on Sunday .. but they have popped a few smiles at me and even more today!

I am also proud to say that I survived my first night with Guenter out of town. My MIL helped with the 8 pm feeding and I did the 12 and 4 feedings by myself ... and even made it to bootcamp this morning. I am proud to say that the girls slept in their stroller while I ran two miles ... with my one mile time @ 9 mins. not bad considering I was pushing over 50 lbs. in the stroller!

Here are some of the latest pics of the girls below. They are doing wonderful and are truely well adjusted babies. I even have them taking naps in their cribs (2 hours). I could never get Maddie and Guenter to do this until they were 4 months old.

Guenter is still like that expression "white on rice" when it comes to the girls. We call him the hoovering parent. Unlike Maddie who will say "that baby is crying" and really is not intrested!

Guenter has become the age where he is very curious and his statements can be so funny! Here are a few recent ones:

Mom, why do you have all those spots on your face (noting my freckles) ... my response is "because God made me that way". He responds, "boys don't have spots".

While Guenter and Maddie were playing in the bathtub he turns to Maddie and says, "Maddie when you are bigger you are going to have BIG boobies, but boys don't have boobies"

I walked into Guenter's room the other day and he was laying in bed with his teddy bear on his body and I asked him what he was doing, "I am feeding my bear my boobies".

Almost two weeks old

We have almost made it through the first two weeks! We are slowly adjusting to little sleep but the girls are settling into a groove at night. They go 3-4 hours between a feeding before awakening again. This has left us with around 6 hours total (not straight!) of sleep a night. It could be worse! Maddie and Guenter are adjusting to not being the top dogs all the time. They are great kids, and have really created a best friend bond with each other, because Mommy and Daddy are so busy. Guenter has had to help me in the middle of the night with feedings. Basically I pump and feed one and he feeds the other. We are doing breast milk only (but in a bottle). This is new to Guenter as I solely breastfed Maddie and he did not have to help at night.

Guenter is still very curious about the girls, and is constantly asking ... "why are they crying, which one is that mom, can I pet her head, can I hold her" it is amazing the difference in age between Maddie and Guenter in understanding the concept of the girls. Maddie tends to hang back when it comes to the girls, and is still not very interested.

We still do not know if the girls are identical. They are starting to look more alike every day. There is a test for $200, that you can have done to check for identicals. We might end up doing it more for curiousity than anything.

Guenter will start back at work full time next week (he has been doing 1/2 days at home). So I need prayers!! I tend to feel a little out numbered, it is like a daycare center around here (1:4 ratio) . I look foward to being able to get out more when the girls are a little older.

As far as my C-section goes, I think I am doing awesome. I stopped taking ibuprofen and am in very little pain and can do most things now. I will have to say that I would take a vaginal delivery over a C-section any day. I think it takes away from the fun of the delivery. But we are thankful they are here ... and we are done with having kids! We are now complete as the Kryszon 6!!

Our girls arrived on December 26th at 2:51 (Kylie on the right) and 2:53 (Kendall on the left) via C-section. They are so sweet and we are so happy they are here! Kylie was 5 lbs. 6 oz. and Kendall at 5 lbs. 13 oz. We think they might be identical ... time will tell. God has been so gracious to us! Guenter was so excited to meet his little sisters , I wish I could say the same for Maddie (she is 2 ... which I think is all I need to say). Today we were visited by them and Guenter's side of the family. We will have more pics to post later. Thank you for all the prayers!

The other day Guenter was looking at Big Guenter's hair and said "Daddy your hair makes an M" ... (pointing to Daddy's receeding hair line) ... Ha Ha!! He then repeated see daddy it goes up down then up and down!!

Maddie on the other hand has gone from 2 to 17. She uses the phrase "Leave me alone" and "don't talk to me bro bro" quite frequently. We are in for it in a few years :-) !

Almost to the date!! Only 4 more days till c-section time! We had an ultrasound today and the girls looked great, Kendal was 6 lbs, and Kylie was 5 1/2 lbs (but this was a weird measurement b/c her abdomen and foot are so low in my pelvis ... they think she is probably a little bigger). I am feeling very large and starting to swell in my feet. Only a few more days till some relief!

The kids are excited for Santa to come. We have already celebrated Xmas with my Dad's side of the family as well as my mom. Guenter will ask everytime we open presents "is there more" which can be a little embarassing for us. He will learn!

Cabalzar Lane Christmas Party

We went to our annual Cabalzar Lane Christmas Party hosted by the Hyden Family. They host a pot luck party for the entire street and hire a Santa to bring presents (provided through a name swap) to the kids. Guenter was so excited about seeing Santa, he waited so patiently to here his name called. Maddie sat a little nervously on her Daddy's lap. Once her friend Anna Lee got her gift, then she was excited to get a gift from Santa. There were probably at least 30 kids there. Here are some pics of the kids at the party. I could not help but post this pic of the belly! It amazes me that I have two over 5 pound babies inside my tummy. I can totally feel every hand and foot poking from my body! I will be 34 weeks this Saturday and still growing :-) . We finally got a C-section date of December 26th (I will be 36 weeks, 6 days) @ 2:30. We can not wait to meet Kendall and Kylie!

Santa List

The kids sent out their Santa list yesterday to the North Pole. Guenter and Maddie cut out pictures from toy catalogs and pasted them on construction paper. Guenter's list includes #88 car (he is in love with number race cars .. it is the engineer in him! ) , the Polar Express, any sort of race track for cars or trains, star wars stuff, and a workshop. Maddie's list was mainly stuffed animals in fact she put about 10 different dog stuffed animal pictures on her list, as well as princess stuff and Dora. They were very excited to put the envelope with their lists in the mailbox!!

On another note, Guenter and I spent Tuesday night @ Northside, I had some preterm labor contractions. They gave me a few shots and sent me home the next day. My cervix was dilated to 1 cm and 5o % effaced ... but this could stay like this for weeks, especially since I have had two kids previously. I was told to go on modified bed rest ... ha ha!!! I am pretty sure that doctor has never taken care of two kids. I am just taking it easy when I can. I am so thankful to my wonderful husband who has really picked up my slack, and takes care of the kids when he is home!! He even did laundry and cleaned toilets last weekend! I am 33 weeks, 2 days today, and hopefully have only a few more weeks to go. I was told they do not stop labor after 34 weeks.

32 Week Twins update

I had my 32 Week appointment with Atlanta Perinatal Consultants. They did an high level ultrasound of the girls. Kendall measured at 4 lbs. 5oz. and Kylie measured at 4 lbs. 7 oz. , they measured 32 weeks 2 days and 32 weeks 4 days respectively. I should be measuring at 32 weeks and 2 days, which means great growth!! Praise God! Kendall is right on the 50th percentile and Kylie is a little above that. The only negative news is Kendall flipped which means two babies butt first ... a C-section is in the cards for me. We want healthy babies and I am willing to endure a little pain to allow for the girls to come safely into this world! I will be seen pretty much every week from here on out, either by my OB or Perinatal Consultant. I imagine a planned C-section will happen anytime after December 27th, before the new year. We pray that they stay in till this time, grow big and healthy so we can come home with two almost 7 pounders :-) !!

Pilgrim Pride

Here are two pictures from Guenter's Thanksgiving celebration at school. The first picture of the Thanksgiving Feast which followed the singing production in the big church. He is sitting next to his friend Seth, who also lives in our neighborhood. They made their own place settings, including the mat and napkin holder. The second picture is when the classes entered the sanctuary, we were waving at Guenter and he did not even glance over to look @ us. It was actually pretty funny! Guenter and the 2,3,4's and Kindergarten sang a few songs ... there were probably at least 100-150 kids on stage, it is quite adorable. The 2 year olds were turkeys, 3's were indians, 4's were pilgrims, and the kindergarten were the chiefs. He did much better this year and actually sang the songs and did all the hand movements. Last year he stood on stage, and made absolutely no movement ... no singing or even gestures! He might not have a career in drama, but it is very cute! I can't wait to see Maddie next year as an Indian when she is 3. Thanks to my Mom and Guenter and Lynn (my in-laws) as well as my hubby for joining the celebration!

Update on my mom: She will be having a double masectomy in December, she of course is very nervous and would appreciate your prayers. She actually only has cancer in one breast but b/c she is having reconstructive surgery following it is better to have both done. They will be taking her belly fat and reconstructing two new breasts. It is like getting a tummy tuck (if you have to look at a positive). The positive is this will keep her from having Chemo. Thanks for the prayers, she really appreciates it! She will need prayer for a quick recovery, which can take over a month.

Halloween and the visit of the Stomach Bug

We had a great Halloween. Guenter dressed as Batman and Maddie as Tinkerbell. Guenter paired up with his friend Andrew who lives across the street and attacked the entire neighborhood. They were running so fast that Maddie and I could not keep up, so Guenter and I had to split up. Maddie and I stayed back and went around the neighborhood with our other neighbor Anna Lee. That is one of her best friends! They were so cute, at one point they stopped and played ring around the rosie in front yard of a house in the subdivision... they didn't quite have the ambition that Guenter had. Our other exciting adventure this week was a visit by the stomach bug. Maddie started it on Tuesday. I thought I was out of the clear by Saturday but unfortunately was not. I ended up at Northside Atlanta getting fluids and medicine to stop the vomiting as well as received two shots to stop the contractions. Luckily we were released at 2:00 in the morning and went home and I am finally feeling better today. Monday afternoon lil' Guenter came home from school with it, but looks better already this morning. Lucky for him there is no school, because of election day.

I had an OB appointment yesterday and the doctor checked my cervix, after all of those contractions and we had no change!! He said things looked great, and barring that I have a perfect pregnancy the babies could be induced the week following Christmas. Happy New Years!!

We had a bit of bad news, my mom has some cancerous lumps in her breast. She will be having some MRI's this week to see the extent of everything. She is very upset and nervous about everything to come. Please say a prayer for her healing, and comfort. We hope that this is localized to her one breast and that treatment will not be to invasive.

Doctor Appt. Update

I am 28 weeks and 2 days today! Getting closer to the big day! Big Guenter, Maddie, and my mother-in-law Lynn joined me for my appointment with the perinatal consultants. Everything looked great both girls are measuring at 28 weeks and 1 day. Kendall is 2 lbs. 11 oz and Kylie is 2 lbs. 10 oz.. My cervix looked great so he thought it would be okay to be seen in 4 weeks, which means I am having a great twin pregnancy. Kendall is head down and Kylie is breech with her feet by Kendall's head.
Below is a picture of Kylie, followed by Kendall. We thought Kendall looked a little like Guenter when he was a baby. Kylie's eyes are open so it is a little freaky looking. God is great, and we continue to pray for them to stay another 9 weeks in my stomach!

We are very exicted Guenter passed his second CPCU exam, we have been praying for good results. He is now done with two of eight. I am so proud of him he worked really hard studying for this! We also had fun celebrating with a dinner and lunch out, rare around here!

Little Guenter had his baseball party, and was so excited to get his trophy! He was so cute, as soon as he got home he placed it on his dresser next to his other trophy. He also requested that I leave the lights on so he could see it while he slept. He can't wait for Spring Baseball so he can get another trophy. Guenter has also been a lot of fun, constantly asking me about the girls. He daily will approach my stomach and say "Hi Kendall and Kylie".

Maddie has little interest in the girls, but of course she is 2. I asked her if she would share her blankets with Kendall and Kylie (mind you she carries three at a time) and her answer was "No" of course! Sometimes I ask her if she has a baby in her tummy and she says "No, I have girl in my tummy" ... she is so precious!

Guenter and Maddie are looking forward to Halloween, Maddie is Tinkerbell and Guenter is supposed to be Batman, but I think he would like to wear his Spiderman costume for the third year in a row. Hey, it saves us money! I will post pictures this weekend of the candy brawl!

Okay I am finally going to do this!!

Hello Everyone in Blog Land! I have been wanting to do this forever and since the twins will be here soon, I thought why not delay! I am 27 weeks tomorrow and can not wait for them to be here. We are thinking about 10 more weeks to go with 11 weeks being max. That would but the arrival between December 27th and January 3rd. I am hoping for this year so we can get $2K from uncle sam from both girls :-) ! This is the latest picture of the belly, we took it last night.

Guenter is 4 1/2 and growing like a weed. He is in preschool 5 days a week. Every morning he wakes up and asks if he can go to school this morning! That makes us know, he is ready. It is so wonderful to see him so excited! He is reading around 100 words and can read sentences with those words. This is Guenter at his school's Pumpkin Patch. He is also playing baseball this year, which is so much fun!

This is Guenter and his best friend Gracey at the school Petting zoo. They are inseparable. I think this is his first "crush" .. they are so cute together. Guenter can not wait to get school every morning to see Gracey.Maddie is 2 1/2 and all girl. We call her our little model, always ready to pose for the camera. She loves princess stuff and stuffed animals. She is not in school yet, but will be next year. She is different from Guenter in so many ways ... very independent. Which is good and bad.

Big Guenter is busy getting ready for a big exam. He is getting his CPCU license, which takes 4 years. He is also the assitant coach for Guenter's baseball team. He works so hard for our family, I don't know how he does it all! We love him for it!
